Airport receives $344,000 state grant for taxiway reconstruction

(January 17, 2022) The Select Board will accept a $344,000 state grant for work at Nantucket Memorial Airport and vote to approve multiple contracts when it meets with a relatively light agenda at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday via Zoom.

The grant from the Aeronautics Division of the Department of Transportation will help fund the reconstruction of a taxiway at the airport.

Other contracts pending approval include a $361,728 service agreement with Zenergy Building Technologies to upgrade and integrate building management systems and automatic temperature controls at 2 Fairgrounds Road Public Safety Facility; $200,000 in service agreements ($100,000 each) with Toscana Corp. and Barrett Enterprises for 2022 snow removal services, and $83,500 to Saltine Warrior for 500 tons of pre-treated road salt.

Also on the agenda are council to receive a COVID-19 update from the health department, consider a request from Richmond Great Point Development to charge a sewer connection fee by June 2020 and a capacity fee. sewer for its affordable apartment complex off Old South Road, review the sewer company fund budget and continue the discussion on board-sponsored items for the assembly term annual municipal.
