CASAJ will celebrate its silver jubilee on November 18
Kohima, October 29 (EMN): The Alumni Association of St. Joseph’s College (AASJC), Jakhama will celebrate its Silver Jubilee on November 18 with the theme “Igniting Unity”.
Briefing the media on Saturday, the president of the association, I Yanger Imchen, informed that on 25e anniversary would be held to honor its pioneers which was formed on November 8, 1997.
Kiviboto Sheqi, head of the Jubilee Planning Committee, invited all former students to the celebration. He informed that an official program was scheduled in the morning at the college’s indoor stadium while a basketball game would be played between the alumni basketball team and the current college team.
Alumni Association Advisor Meyisul Thaprii informed that they will be represented by the 2003 varsity team, which represented the university at the University of Nagaland Basketball Tournament in the game against the varsity team current.
Thaprii, who will lead the alumni team, informed that they have reserved cash prizes for the winning men’s and women’s teams.
Recognizing the Rev. Dr. George Keduolhou Angami, principal of the college for allowing them to organize the event, Sheqi informed that the students present as well as the college management will also participate in the occasion.
Founding member and first president of the alumni association, Kezhokhoto Savi, shared how they formed the association after conceptualizing their motto, theme and goals. He informed that they were observing the Silver Jubilee on November 18 instead on its founding day due to time constraints.
Dr. Medonuo Pienyii, co-organizer of the Jubilee Planning Committee, informed that the alumni were meeting-cum-25e anniversary would be celebrated on the banner “We all take different paths in life but no matter where we go, we take a little from each other everywhere.”
He was informed that a link would soon be added to the college website http://www.stjosephcollegejakhama.ac.in for those attending the occasion to register themselves.
