Cheshire mum-of-four creates ‘stunning’ wall of mirrors with £1 IKEA hack and flowers from Amazon

Homeowners don’t have to shell out thousands to revamp their spaces with chic designs.

A Cheshire mum-of-four has shown how she created a statement for her hallway on a shoestring budget.

Jessica Cooper, who lives in Sandbach, pulled off the decorative look using £1 mirrors from IKEA and artificial flowers from Amazon.

The 30-year-old tiled the mirrors together to create a floor-to-ceiling wall of mirrors, adorned with flowers above.

It only costs £100 in total to complete.

Jessica first painted the entire wall black and measured the width and height of the wall.

She found IKEA mirrors to be the best fit and used double-sided Gorilla tape to tape them to the wall.

“It took me two days just because I had four children to raise and the cost was no more than £100,” said Jessica, a nighttime domestic assistant at Leighton Hospital in Crewe.

“These were the mirrors that cost me the most as I needed 49 at a cost of £1 each.

“I bought the flowers on Amazon and just used hooks I already had at home to hang the flowers on.”

The other walls in the room are painted a soothing sage green and Jessica added white accessories for contrast, including a large floor lantern and a white radiator cover.

The finished look – for no more than £100

The busy mum shared her hallway renovation with the DIY On A Budget Facebook group, where the post racked up nearly 10,000 likes.

Band member Susan Marie Smith said: “Stunning” while Linda McDonald added: “Wow this is absolutely stunning”.

Carol Narey posted: “Awesome work, looks fanbloodytastic”.

Jessica, an avid DIYer, added: “I saw so many pictures of wall mirrors on the DIY Facebook page. I just wanted to take them and create my own design.

“It’s amazing to have such reactions and it shows that something can be done on a budget.”
