Jake Paul Names Alternative Tommy Fury Opponent Despite Last Victory
Paul would rather fight UFC legend Anderson Silva after his next exhibition than face British star Fury after his undercard victory in his brother Tyson’s title defense against Dillian Whyte.
Jake Paul admitted he was willing to wait and face UFC legend Anderson Silva rather than face Tommy Fury in a rescheduled fight after his rival’s latest win.
Fury fought on the undercard of his brother Tyson’s successful heavyweight title defense against Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night. He edged out Polish star Daniel Bocianski and made another fight call to his longtime rival the day after the win.
The pair were due to meet in the ring in December last year, but Fury was forced to pull out after suffering a broken rib in training camp. Paul has previously declined to commit to a rescheduled date and recently called out UFC legend Michael Bisping.
However, Paul has now named Silva as a potential opponent after claiming the stadium was ’empty’ during the young star’s recent card outing. “Congrats on beating a fighter 10-1. But that stadium was empty. When I fight, the stadium is full. When Tommy fights, nobody cares. And that’s in his home country. Let’s see how the Anderson Silva event unfolds.
Fury failed to produce a vintage stoppage on the undercard but managed to cross the line and defeat his opponent, who was carrying a 10-1 winning record. He previously pleaded with Paul to re-engage in their rivalry after his woes last year but is unwilling to wait and disrupt his career.
The British star called his rival a ‘tramp’ after his victory on Saturday and called on Paul to sign a new contract. “I felt really good,” Fury said after his win. “It was my first fight in a year, he’s a very tough guy and I almost got arrested a couple of times.

“But I just have one thing to say, Jake Paul – this should have been done a long time ago in December and if you want it, I’m here and I’m ready for you. I’ll cut you up and chop you up for like I did it there, get the contract signed, asshole, let’s do it once and for all.
“That boy in there would have killed Jake Paul, that boy is a real professional. He was cut to pieces, still in there giving me everything he had, he was slapping Jake Paul and it would be over. Jake Paul, I’m going to end your career, you’re a bum and you’re worthless Let’s finish this fight and settle this.
Paul has announced he will be looking for an opponent to make a comeback in August and has previously admitted his admiration for UFC legend Silva. The Brazilian star will first have to pass an exhibition test unscathed on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather’s latest outing against Don Moore.
The event will take place on a helipad atop the lavish Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, with the 47-year-old taking on compatriot Bruno Machado.
