Actress Martine McCutcheon opened up about how she feels crazy, tired and sore and thinks she’s “perimenopausal” in an open and honest Instagram post.

The English actress, best known for an extended stint on EastEnders and for playing Natalie in the hit rom-com Love Actually, took to social media to tell fans about the symptoms she’s been experiencing in recent weeks and how she “just can’t get my shizz together”.

Sharing a wide-eyed selfie, Martine wrote: “Today the ‘Oh shit, b*gger, b*llocks and every other naughty word on the planet!’ vibe!’ I’ve had the worst stomach ache and just can’t calm down in the last week…

“At the top of the Lyme [lyme disease] and fibro [fibromyalgia] etc I really think I’m going through peri-menopause too… Oh Joy! I have symptoms for two weeks of the month and it’s getting worse!”

In 2011, Martine, then 34, was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), a condition that causes long-term fatigue and flare-ups after performing even small physical or mental tasks, and she then was diagnosed with Lyme disease, a condition that can cause rashes, fever, headaches and fatigue, in 2017.

She also suffers from fibromyalgia, a condition that can cause chronic pain and cramps.

This is believed to be the first time she has spoken of ‘perimenopause’, which the NHS explains as when women experience symptoms months or years before their periods stop.

Martine joked that the phrase “peri menopause” reminded her of Nando’s “peri menopause chicken.”

“I always mean peri peri chicken (Like in Nando’s) Anyone else? Or am I the only classy woman to make that connection?” she joked. “It’s such an individual thing and I feel like it’s time for me to address it for sure!

“At least I managed to get slapped today! That loon is gone! See you later alligator!”

Martine’s post, which has been liked over 5,000 times in just four hours, also includes the hashtags ‘feeling crazy’, ‘tired’, ‘painful’, ‘my best look yet’ and ‘next chapter’ as Martine attempts to mock her symptoms.

She shared a link to the post on her Instagram story, along with the backing track to Crazy by Gnarls Barkley to further joke about her “crazy” feelings as she goes through peri-menopause.

Martine’s post comes just a week after she and pal Denise Van Outen stepped out in gorgeous dresses for a live performance of The Masked Singer in Sheffield.

Wearing a gold disc mini dress alongside Denise, 47, in a silver fringe dress, guest judge Martine looked happy and relaxed as the couple posed for photos backstage before heading to the main auditorium to sit on the jury.

Martine teamed her sparkly dress with simple nude stilettos and wore her hair in soft waves to complete her glamorous look.

She went on to thank the show’s producers for making her a “really cool mummy” to her son Rafferty who felt “really proud” to see her judging the latest episode of the hit TV series.
