Nagaland: 16 RA personnel awarded Governor’s Medal
Dimapur, August 23 (EMN): The Governor of Nagaland, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi on Tuesday awarded the Governor’s Gold and Silver Medal to 16 Assam Rifles personnel at Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
Addressing the ceremony, mukhi said the Assam Rifles are known for their dedication, sincerity, achievements and sacrifices made by the valiant personnel of the country.
“The force has done a terrific job not only in security but also in several other areas,” he said, according to an update.
He also said that the force played an important role in both world wars and also plays a role in counter-insurgency operations, maintaining public order by assisting the civil administration in disaster management and also in the socio-economic development of remote areas. areas.
Mukhi said the country needs effective deterrence through a strong defense force, which is essential to preserve peace in the march towards economic growth and as a nation, “we must remain firmly committed to the peace, stability and prosperity”.
“The resilience and tenacity demonstrated by our forces during operational engagements as well as during disaster relief emergencies is a great source of strength and also immense pride for the nation,” he added.

Earlier, Mukhi congratulated the winners with a cash prize of INR 5000 each. Seven personnel of the Assam Rifles were awarded the Governor’s Gold Medal and nine others the Governor’s Silver Medal.
