Newsboy’s NAP and advice from Tuesday’s four UK horse racing meetings
Newsboy nap Larch Hill is in a rich vein of form and should win again at Stratford, while his next best De Vegas Kid can hit Brighton
LARCH HILL can score four wins in six starts for its new yard at Stratford (6.50) tonight.
The nine-year-old gelding came in very handy when trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies and was purchased by the Pogson family for Charles and Adam Pogson to train in the fall of last year.
Since then, the change of environment in Nottinghamshire seems to have breathed new life into the gelding with three victories.
On his last outing over course and distance last month, he won by two and a half lengths ahead of Atlantic Storm, who still oppose him today. But he was still holding on to his old rival and a 4-pound raise for that win seems indulgent.
He has the help of champion jockey Brian Hughes back in the saddle again and should take all the hits in the two-mile Watch On Racing TV Handicap Chase.
DE VEGAS KID, a Brighton regular, loves the seaside track and can follow up his recent win over the course and distance last month.
He was backed by a 6-5 to 5-4 favorite on a seven-runner handicap and ended a long losing streak with a fifth success on the course.
The Tony Carroll-trained eight-year-old is still well handicapped after just a 2-pound raise and looks sure to feature again in the bet365 Handicap (2.00).
